About the event
An event built for the challenge-seeking women's mountain biking community in the Sea2Sky, The Witsend event will take place on August 23. Just like last year, we’ll be donating 25% of proceeds to a dedicated charitable organization (the rest goes back into the trails!). This year’s recipient will be Whistler SAR.
The Witsend was purposefully created to provide a women’s+ focused enduro for the Sea2Sky (and our neighbours who want to join us for a solid day out on the bike).
This inclusive event is open to women, trans, non-binary, and gender diverse riders. Our aim is to connect with those riders in the mountain biking community who want a challenging race opportunity, and to showcase the deep support our community has for the women’s+ mountain bike scene.
The Witsend is geared towards strong intermediate & advanced-level riders seeking a challenge (i.e., entry-level riders should review the course and determine if it is suited to their skill set).
This event is about women supporting women, whether you are new to racing or Enduro-riding, or a seasoned rider looking for more racing opportunities.
You won’t want to miss out on this day on the bike and the party that comes after the ride!
Registration is capped at 150 riders.
Event Refund Policy
A refund will be available for registration cancellations, minus a $20 processing fee - cancelation deadline to be announced at the time of registration opening.
After this date, there are no refunds.
Transferring registrations is subject to waitlist and will be at WORCA’s discretion.
Membership fees are non-refundable.

The Story Behind the Name
The roots of the Witsend can be traced back to a group of hard-working, fun-loving and adventure-seeking Lower Mainland school teachers; June Tidball, Florence Strachan, Jacquie Pope, Eunice “Kelly” Forster and Betty Gray. These women became the first women to own property by purchasing a two-bedroom cabin on the shores of Alta Lake in 1955. It was after a particular day of treacherous travel, from the steamboat in Vancouver to Squamish, a train from Squamish to Whistler, then Alta Lake, and then a half mile hike with luggage and supplies up a steep, winding set of stairs to reach the cabin, the name “The Witsend” was born. At the Witsend, the priorities consisted of doing activities together and having a good time in the outdoors. This isn’t far from the dream many independent, fun-spirited, and adventure-chasing women have, who migrate to Whistler today. The women of the Witsend left a lasting imprint on the future of Whistler and it’s why we are honoured to name WORCA’s newest Women's Enduro after them.
