Come for the ride, stay for the après!
Stay posted for 2026 schedule
WORCA hosts Thursday night Toonie Rides, each sponsored by a different local business or organization. Our amazing sponsors provide course marshalling, prizes, and après… thank you for making these rides possible!
The Toonie Rides bring our community together to ride, eat, and enjoy a beverage while celebrating the sport we love. Some riders seek the thrill and competition, while others come to relax, socialize, get some exercise, and explore Whistler’s trails.
Funds raised cover event insurance, and every other cent goes directly into maintaining Whistler’s exceptional network of bike trails. Many rides sell out, so register early!

Who Can Participate
The rides are open to all ages and abilities. All participants must:
Be WORCA members and have signed a waiver.
Wear a helmet and ensure their bike is in good working order.
Bring the necessities: water, tube repair kits, tools, etc.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Ride Format
Start Times & Staggered Starts
First Start (typically at 6:30pm): For competitive riders who want to go fast and aim for podiums.
Staggered Start: For riders who prefer a social pace, enjoy the trails, and ride with friends.
Course Variety
Courses change throughout the year to provide a mix of difficulty, locations across the valley, and a range of trail ratings to suit all skill levels. Formats will vary from ride to ride, with the majority being classic point-to-point style XC rides.
Trail Etiquette
On the Trail
Stay on marked trails; cutting corners or riding off-trail is not allowed.
Be patient in congested sections; it’s all part of the Toonie experience.
Passing
Request to pass politely (an audible “rider up!” works well).
If someone asks to pass you, acknowledge them and pull over safely.
Walking riders should step aside for those on bikes; riders always have the right of way but communicate politely.
E-Bikes
We hope that by next season (2026), we'll be able to offer start times for those on E-Bikes so all can participate in the Toonies. Remember, all WORCA trails are multi-use trails, which means that E-Bikes are allowed on the trails. The only trails that are not open to E-Bikes are those in the Alpine Trail Network and this rule is governed by the Province and NOT by WORCA. Just sayin'. E-Bikes, however, will not be eligible for podiums.
Summary
A reminder that Toonies are for WORCA members who have registered for the Toonies, only. This is not to keep it an exclusive club, but to ensure that we are covered by our insurance policy, and doing right by our sponsors and our community. If you have your membership, click your way through to the upcoming Toonie and sign-up! If you're not a WORCA member, then the obvious first step is to become one. And remember, many of our Toonies SELL OUT, so get on it! Our sponsors work hard to make them happen, but they can only afford so much food or only have a certain amount of space!
OK.... See you at the Toonies!
Toonie Tip
Review the course maps each week as the range of difficulty can vary week to week depending on what the sponsor has in store for everyone. See you at the finish line!
